Illustration/Poster Design

Bruce Gillespie Memorial

Bruce Gillespie was a music lover and an instructor at Red River College from 1989 until his passing in 2008. While Bruce may be gone his legacy and presence is still felt at Red River to date. Every year the Graphic Design—Advance students participate in the Bruce Gillespie Collection Award scholarship with an in-class poster design assignment.

This design was this year's winner. The approach was to perhaps catch a moment in time—Bruce once owned his own record store and that became the focus of the poster. It is a street side look into the store. The front door is left open indicating that everyone and anyone are welcome to come inside.
